The BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse dominated the Italian weekend at Vallelunga, the third round of the Kumho TCR World Tour. Norbert Michelisz and Mikel Azcona won a 1-2 of strength.
In Saturday's qualifying, the two drivers on the Elantra N TCR monopolised the entire front row with the Hungarian overtaking his team-mate.
In Race 1 Norbert and Mikel worked as a team to ensure that their rivals could not keep up with their pace and once they had created a gap that was difficult to close they headed to the chequered flag without too many problems. Thus securing a one-two finish that confirms their previous feelings and results.
In the second race of the weekend in Rome, the two Hyundai drivers started ninth and tenth respectively, managing to climb the classification up to fourth place for Norbert and fifth for Mikel. Despite a Safety Car that froze the positions, the two teammates managed to gain one more position afterwards.
With these excellent results Michelisz was able to extend his championship lead by 25 points, while Azcona moved up to 4th in the overall standings.
Back-to-back races immediately this weekend with the TCR World Tour coming to Hungary.
